About Me: The Story Behind Here Comes The Bride on a Budget

How it all started...

I’m Heather — bridal bargain hunter, proud dog mom to four crazy Boxers (one of whom proudly represents the brand in our logo!) and the heart behind Here Comes the Bride On A Budget.

When I was shopping for my own wedding dress, I was hit with the same struggles so many brides face: sky-high prices, limited sizing, overwhelming choices, and the fear of being scammed. As a bride shopping for her second wedding, I didn’t want to overspend, but I did want a gown that made me feel confident, beautiful, and like me. I quickly found that shopping online, in-store, and even secondhand wasn’t always budget-friendly or size-inclusive — and it definitely wasn’t stress-free.

Eventually, I found the perfect dress through a kind seller in a resale group. It was beautiful, in budget, and fit like a dream. That experience lit a fire in me. I wanted to help other brides find their dream dress — without the stress, the judgment, or the massive price tag.

That’s how Here Comes the Bride On A Budget was born.

This shop is a space for all brides — whether it’s your first wedding or your fifth, whether you're a curvy bride, a later in life bride, or whether you’ve got a big budget or a tight one. Every dress is priced as affordably as possible, and I’m always happy to chat, answer questions, or offer virtual consultations to help you feel confident before buying. And yes — if a dress is a little out of reach, it never hurts to ask! I'm here to help however I can.

In addition to helping brides, I’m passionate about giving back. I love supporting other local, woman-owned businesses, and I’m passionate about animal rescue. That’s why I created Here Comes the Bride’s Best Friend: Dresses With a Purpose. This nonprofit part of my shop accepts donated dresses, and 100% of the proceeds from those sales go directly to a local animal rescue close to my heart.
