According to Green Bride Guide, the average wedding in the U.S. produces 400 pounds of garbage and 63 tons of CO2!

There are many ways you can reduce your carbon footprint and save money at the same time! Buying a pre-owned wedding dress from Here Comes the Bride On A Budget utilizes resources that are already made and also helps to support a small business! If you are interested in being a sustainable bride here are some other tips to have a more eco-friendly wedding!

  • Choose eco-friendly table ware

  • Choose reusable signage such as chalk boards or glass

  • Make upcycled wedding decorations out of wine bottles, glass jars or other items you already have around the house

  • Buy pre-owned wedding décor from marketplace or local yard sales and resell after your wedding

  • Repurpose wedding decorations in your home after the wedding (I will be using our card box as a place for us to store mail and some of my artificial flower arrangements will be used as décor in our house and my mom’s house!)

  • Send digital invitations or save the dates

  • Choose a caterers who source from local farms

  • Make a charitable donation instead of having wedding favors that most guests leave behind or never use (or opt for something edible from a local small business!- We are doing little honey jars with honey from a local supplier)

  • Buy antique wedding bands
